Entries from Australia and New Zealand now open!

The objective of this festival is to enable students to use their creative abilities to showcase their Japanese. Students (and teachers!) can give vent to their dramatic, musical, directing or other skills while enjoyably using Japanese.

The task is to produce a short film, animation, digital story, or claymation of up to 3 minutes. Works may include skits, dramas, musical performances, documentaries or anything you like.

There are no restrictions on theme or style, but all works must include Japanese language. Please only include copyright free images and music.

Awards will be given to videos which excel in certain areas such as script, performance, music, costumes, ensemble work, editing, and overall direction / production. Winning videos will be shown on the JF, Sydney website and at various venues around the states.

There will be 4 divisions:

  • Primary
  • Junior Secondary
  • Senior Secondary
  • Tertiary

All works must be submitted by 30 September 2010.
* Due to the popularity of this contest, a maximum of 5 entries per school will be accepted

Please send your entries to:
